lame post of the day...
Busy weekend ahead...
I am getting so burned out at work from this project that has grown into a monster. I'm tired of e-mailing, calling and IMing co-workers about tiny details that should have been figured out weeks ago. I'm tired of filling in incomplete spreadsheets. I'm tired of waiting on outside vendors to provide content that I need to tweak. Long story short, I'm tired.I hate that feeling of knowing that if you continue on a certain path you will inevitably crash and burn. I think I'm about a day away from having that kind of breakdown. Luckily, after tomorrow I have 5 days to try and relax and get my body back to normal. Hopefully I'll be able to do that. Because I can already feel myself shutting down.
It'll all be worth it in the end when I get to see the finished product at the end of July. It's such a monstrous project and I'm very proud of myself that I've been able to keep thousands of components organized. This is by far the biggest assignment I’ve had to handle on my own. So, here I am, patting myself on the back.
Anyway, I wanted to pop in one last time before the weekend. We are leaving tomorrow night for our weekend of weddings. Coach and Karen have been so kind and are dog sitting for us on Friday until Saturday morning. Yoda is going to have a blast with Jackson. They are so adorable together.

On Saturday, we will head over to the second wedding with Coach and Karen. Then spend the night there and enjoy a party at their place on Sunday. Can’t wait! I’ll finally be able to chill out and relax. And hopefully we will make the drive back on Monday so that we can make it for some of the festivities over at Supermom's place on Tuesday. Afterall, you can’t break tradition!

I'm still here!
Anyway, the real reason I have torn myself away from working on thousands of images is to vent. David got a call this morning saying that the building he works in is closed because of flooding. Grr, he sucks. This area has been getting pounded with rain, places flooding, mudslides, bla bla bla. But it gets worse, he just called me a little while ago and they are off again tomorrow!! Guess they couldn't get the inches of rain out of the basement today. But seriously, he is planning on going out to lunch and a movie with fellow gov't employees tomorrow. And he rubbed it in that he's basically has a week off of work without having to use any vacation days. Ahhh, to be a gov't employee. Maybe I should look into that!
Anyway, I'm just so jealous because this is probably the busiest week ever at work for me and he gets to sit at home because of rain! Waaaa!
Ok, I'm done whining. I will try and write more later this week, if I don't lose my mind first :)

some delayed photos from L.A.
The live orchid in my room that was almost completely dead by the time I left, is that a sign?
The view from the couch, beautiful!
And one work related photo, this was the video set.
Sunrise on Sunset Blvd. :)

planes, trains and automobiles...
All I have to say is that I took the red eye from LAX on Friday at 11:30pm and got into Dulles at 7:30am on Saturday. It took an hour to find all of my luggage (thanks for telling me you put it on the earlier flight!). I came home and slept for an hour, then we took off to see the Nationals/Yankees game with some friends. It was the longest baseball game ever. At least it felt that way to me! We were gone for 8 hours. 8 hours!! For a baseball game. Anyway, I'm still recovering from that flight. (I was basically up from 6:30am Friday until 10pm Saturday night). If I let myself, I swear I could fall asleep right now.
L.A. was ok. I have zero desire to go back there. It's just not me. There were definitely some good celebrity sightings though. But not by me! Some people from the crew got back early one day and while they were sitting by the pool at the hotel, they saw Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz dining outside about 20 feet away from them. They also saw Kid Rock at the bar the previous night. Who was the biggest celebrity I saw while I was out there you ask? Raven Symone, you know...Olivia from The Cosby Show. Yeah, saw her in the airport on the day I was leaving. Pathetic. Oh well.
The shoot was incredibly exhausting and I got to see almost nothing around L.A. So, it's really good to be home but things at work won't be normal again for another 2 weeks. I'm going to burn out from all of this project work. My manager took away all of my normal work so that I can dedicate myself to this project 100%. I'm going to need a vacation after this!
Sorry if this made no sense at all...I feel like I'm in a fog today. Is it time to go home yet?

Signing off for a week...
When we came home we were acting a little silly and had some fun with Yoda and his all time favorite treat, peanut butter, just had to share some funny pics:
Don't worry, that peanut butter jar is specifically for him! We don't touch it :)I spent most of today getting ready for my trip to L.A. by doing laundry, whoo hoo, fun! Oh, and I put together our deck umbrella that FINALLY came in! David however, has been powerwashing our house like a madman. The kids in the neighborhood begged him to shoot them with water so I had to take some photos. Quite funny, but I feel bad for their parents who had their kids come home soaking wet!

So, tomorrow I head out to CA. I'm not dreading it as much as I was earlier in the week. But I am still nervous that I'm going to stick out, but oh well. I'm starting to not care that much anymore. I know I'll have a good time, even though most of my time will be spent working. We plan on going out as a group for dinner each night so that should be fun. As for tomorrow, I have that whole night to myself. I'm thinking of ordering room service and just chilling out in the gorgeous room overlooking L.A. Yes I'm bragging, only because I would never be able to stay at a place this nice if I had to pay for it myself!

Off to the left coast...
This is the amazing hotel we will be staying at:

Honestly, I really feel like I am going to stick out so badly there. I mean, they sometimes have after parties for movie premieres here. Jeez! I'm going to try and go shopping this weekend to see if I can pick up a few things that will help me fit in. I highly doubt I'll be successful! Oh well. It will definitely be an experience! And it's not like I'm going to have that much time to enjoy all of this anyway.
Oh, and David came home yesterday. Whoo hoo...things are back to normal...well as normal as they can be :)

My biggest blonde moment of all time?
When I saw it my first thought was "David is going to kill me!" This car is his baby. So, I bent it back up and came in the house. First, I called Acura to make an appointment, the stupid car needs to go in anyway. And I called David. Actually, I texted him and he called me back, right away. He was laughing. Thank god. Luckily it probably will be an easy (aka cheap) fix. The motor still works so hopefully it's just the casing that needs to be replaced.
But seriously, this is the last thing I need. I feel like absolute crap and just wanted to come home and sleep. Now I get to sit at the dealership for over an hour. I deserve it though, there is no excuse for the rediculous move I just pulled.
**Update**
busted antenna = 2 and half hours in a waiting room and $130!
This is what happens when I have too much time on my hands...
On a more sane note...the game last night was great...the Hurricane's won on some flukes but a win's a win. And you know who got the winning goal, again!

It's about time!
This weekend was great. Friday, David and I got some much needed Daquiri Ice from Baskin Robbins and then went out to see 'The Break-Up' with friends. The movie was ok. It was entertaining and cute but you definitely don't need to see it on a big screen. But it was a good night out so I didn't mind.
On Saturday, David and I headed out to Baltimore, completely decked out in all of our Yankees garb for the Orioles/Yankees game. And honestly, you would have thought we were in NY. I could barely see any O's fans and in the stadium all you would hear were Yankees chants. Towards the end of the game, the whole stadium had taken over chanting "Let's go Yankees". It must have been quite embarassing to be an O's fan at that point. Too funny. The game was great and it was a perfect day for it. Lately it's been in the 90's and so incredibly humid but Saturday it was around 70. One of those days that you don't want to end.
Sunday I took David to the airport. He's in Texas until Thursday for some conferences. So, I took advantage of the day and went and bought some plants for the deck and some mulch for the back garden. I even had a helper:

I'm definitely enjoying the time by myself. However, one or 2 days would have been enough. I already seem to be counting down the days until David comes back. But I will take advantage of this time and get some things done around the house, hang out with friends and maybe do a little more shopping :)

MY Brind'Amour!
I was a huge Flyers fan when I was in high school and college. In particular, a Rod Brind'Amour fan. Fan is an understatement, I was obsessed. I loved this guy. I went to so many Flyers games because my stepmother had connections with someone with season tickets that could rarely go on weeknight games. So, I basically got them all. My first big purchase ever as a teenager was a Brind'Amour jersey. The best way to spend $100 for me back then. The highlight of this part of my life was getting to meet Brind'Amour at their annual Flyers Wives Carnival. I got to sit next to him for a photo op. (this pic actually made it into an ad for the next years carnival, so it was actually published!) I was speechless sitting next to him but so incredibly happy that my thigh was touching his, even if it was only for about a minute or two. And of course my mother found some way to embarass me in my moment of glory. As I got up to leave my mother screamed "It's her birthday!" I turned to him completely embarrased and he wished me a happy birthday. I was mortified at that moment but as we were leaving I kept saying "he said happy birthday to me!!!". Hell, I still get excited about that now.As the college years went on, I watched less and less hockey and then in 2000 he got traded to the Carolina Hurricanes and I was pissed so I never really watched the Flyers again. I haven't watched a hockey game in a while and I've only occasionally looked to see how Brind'Amour has been doing. I have to admit, I didn't realize they were in the playoffs until about a week ago. Then I found out that they were going to game 7 with the Sabres to fight for the Eastern Conference. So, I watched last night. I wanted to cheer him on in the hopes that he would make it to the Stanley Cup Finals. It was such an incredible game. I forgot how much I enjoy a good hockey game. I screamed and cheered the whole time. They won, and guess who got the game winning goal? Yep, none other than MY Brind'Amour :)
So, anyway...I just wanted to give a little tribute to my favorite player whom I've neglected for many, many years. And I'll definitely be watching the Finals next week in the hopes of seeing Brind'Amour win his first Stanley Cup!
