Yay!

My weekend starts early this week, in 1 hour and 50 minutes to be exact!

Tonight we are off to spend the weekend with this beautiful girl!

I can't wait to meet little Olivia and see how Bailey interacts with her. It's going to be a great weekend! I'll be sure to post pics on Monday :)

just a vent

I was just out at AC Moore and I was standing in line waiting to pay. This woman comes up to stand behind me and is literally 3 inches from me. So, I moved up just a little bit and she moves too! Ughhh, don't people understand the meaning of personal space? I must have inched forward about 3 times, and each time she went with me. If I had moved backwards in the slightest I would have been on top of her. I don't understand what is wrong with people. Why must you stand so close? It's not like someone is going to cut in front of you. I really wanted to say something to her but chickened out. I should have backed up and stepped on her toe. But no, I'm too nice of a person. At least that's what I tell myself.

You understand what I'm saying, yes? Good!

This weekend was great, busy, but great. We went up to Jersey on Friday night and Saturday we met with a photographer, florist and limo company. Well, we booked all three! Yay!! It feels so good to get most of the big things out of the way. The photographers are wonderful. We got along with them great and it just feels perfect. The florist is a riot! He has a thick Greek accent and talks like a mile a minute. Just listening to him made my heart race. Such a character. And after everything he said he would be like "you understand what I'm saying? Yes? Good!" Hehe, too funny. The greatest part was at the end when he was showing me options for flowers he kept grabbing roses and fillers and baby's breath and then proceeded to arrange them, cut them and wrap them. He handed them to me and I was like, umm, what? He let me have all those flowers for free! I couldn't believe it. He is giving us such a good deal on our flowers for the wedding, too.
Here's a photo of the flowers he gave, doesn't do them justice, the bouquet was HUGE!

After the florist we walked to the church, it was only 3 blocks away. Now, I've been in this church a few times before but this time was different. I was picturing myself there on the day of the wedding and when I was at the back of the church looking down the aisle I got butterflies! Its' such a gorgeous church, and such a LONG aisle...I'm going to be a wreck that day.

Inside of the church (so much better in person!)

On Sunday we went to my grandmother's house for a quick birthday lunch and we picked up my grandfather's car. Even though we were only there for a few hours, it was great to see my mom, sister and grandmother. My grandmother cooked up a turkey and we had a carvel cake too...yum! I also received a few presents that I wasn't expecting. The best one was an ipod!! Yay, finally I am up to speed with technology!

Cutest picture ever, David and his favorite future grandmother in law :)

busy busy

We have a busy wedding related weekend coming up. Tonight we are headed up to Jersey. Tomorrow we are meeting with a potential photographer (we'll most likely book on the spot), florist and limo company. We were going to meet with the priest but he notified us at the last minute that mornings are the only time that is good for him. Could have told us that 2 weeks ago when David called you. Oh well, can't really stay mad at a priest, right? So, we'll have to do that another time. Maybe I can at least get a few photos of the church so that whenever I want I can look at them and imagine myself walking down the aisle, I know...too cheesy.

But I'm really excited because this is going to get a ton of planning out of the way. I already printed out photos of what I want as far as flowers go. Apparently the florist isn't big on being creative but he's great if you already know what you want. So, I'm going prepared! I also have copies of must take photos for the photographer. I feel so organized :)

We are also going to my grandmother's house on Sunday for a quick "happy birthday, so sorry it's late" lunch and to pick up my grandfather's car. After he passed away it was decided that David and I would take the car. So, bye bye Princess Consuela Banana Hammock, you won't be missed!

Have a great weekend, everyone :)

Yay!!

My wedding dress came in yesterday! Whoo hoo! Now I just have to figure out what to do with it for 8 months :) If I keep it at the house I'm afraid that I'll try it on one day and show David! I totally trust that he won't look at it but I don't trust myself. It's hard for me not to give people their Christmas presents early, this is going to be 100 times worse!

Cha-ching!

Got our taxes done last night and I was very pleasantly surprised with the outcome! Not that we will be able to have that much fun with the money, considering it will go towards bills and wedding expenses. But it is so wonderful to know that we won't be in debt from this wedding. When it's over, we won't have to spend months, or years recovering from it. That's a great feeling! At least part of my stress is gone :)

Not much else to report other than this feels like the longest day ever! It's only 3:30 and I am ready to go home. I'm craving anything chocolately and I'm getting very cranky because there is none in sight!

One of those days...

Nothing major to report...just wanted to say that I am having one of "those" days. Where you just want to crawl back into bed and never come out. Since I got up this morning I have had a headache and my neck has been killing me. I can't turn my head either way without it hurting. Plus, now I have a shooting pain in my lower back every 30 seconds or so. Fun! I wish I could just go home and take a bath or something, but nooooo, we have to go get our taxes done tonight. Joy!

The weekend was good. Friday night I took a VERY drunk David over to our friends house to hang out and have some wonderful Shepherds Pie! It was a nice laid back St. Patrick's Day. On Saturday we went out to breakfast with some friends that came in from out of town (yes, David was actually functioning normally, shocking!). David and I had a date night on Saturday that consisted of us eating some vanilla fudge brownie ice cream and watching Lady and the Tramp. I forgot how damn cute that movie is!

So, it wasn't a very productive weekend and that's fine with me! It was nice to finally have a weekend where there wasn't a list involved!

He's still got it!

Billy Joel was awesome last night. The first part of the concert was a little slow but once he got going it was great. Here's a little taste of what was played :

Angry Young Man
Downeaster Alexa
Captain Jack
The Entertainer
Everybody Loves you Now
New York State of Mind
Only the Good Die Young
Zanzibar
I Go to Extremes
Movin Out
My Life
She's Always a Woman
An Innocent Man
You May Be Right
Keeping the Faith
Allentown
It's Still Rock and Roll to Me
Big Shot
Pressure
Goodnight Saigon (was accompanied by members of the Armed Forces in the background, everyone gave them a standing ovation)
We Didn't Start the Fire
The River of Dreams
Scenes from an Italian Restaurant
Piano Man

Ok I guess it's more than just a little taste! I think I listed most of the ones he played. There were only 2 songs that I could have done without. That's pretty good! He closed with Piano Man (shocker!). Everyone sang along and it was just a great moment. It was such a great night. Even though we had nosebleed seats :)

Anyway, I'm so tired right now! I originally had taken a comp day today so I could sleep in but we are going to meet Olivia in April. So I switched it to that day, since I don't have a lot of vacation time to play with this year (it's basically all being used for the wedding and honeymoon). I'm not as young as I used to be. 6 hours of sleep used to be a lot for me. Now I can barely function.

Such is life.

birthday recap :)

I had a wonderful birthday yesterday. All in all, I received 6 e-cards, 2 gorgeous flower arrangements and a few things dropped off from UPS :)

David cooked me a wonderful dinner, Omaha steaks wrapped in bacon, twice baked potatoes, some green beans and 2 lovely glasses of wine! Yoda even got me a birthday gift, Lady and the Tramp. I can't wait to watch it. I love that movie and I'm sure it's even better now that they remastered it.

Thanks for a great night David! :)

And the best part is yet to come, Billy Joel tomorrow night!

Surprise! (well, kind of)

Have I mentioned how much I love my fiance? Honestly, I've been looking at him today with the biggest smile on my face. He planned a surprise birthday party for me and a friend that was last night.

Even though I had caught on a while ago that something was up, I had such a great time. He got me out of the house by having friends tell me that they needed us to babysit their daughter. And about an hour and a half before we were supposed to leave he started "not feeling well". So, I ended up going by myself and came back a couple of hours later to a house full of friends. I knew it was coming but what I didn't know was that he had invited my sister to come down from Philly. I was completely shocked! It was so great to see her there. Grant it, I had to quickly run upstairs, minutes after I got there, so that I could change out of my crappy babysitting clothes and turn myself into something a little more normal looking! It really was such a good night though. I couldn't believe that David put that all together for me. And when the night was all over and everyone had left, he put on a couple of "our" songs and we danced in the living room. It was such a great moment. The best part though, was we were both kinda tipsy and David ended up knocking over one of the glass candleholders on the coffee table and it broke into a million little pieces on the carpet. We both had a good laugh about it though!

So, thank you David for such a memorable night. It truly meant so much to me :)

Oh, and just because I'm a little evil, here is a photo of my two little men, hungover this morning!

Beautiful day!

If I hear one more person talk about how beautiful the weather is outside I'm going to scream! Damn you, cubicle job! Even if I was sitting by a window I'd be happy. It could be pouring rain for all I know. Luckily, if I stand up, turn around and tilt myself to the side a little, I can get a glimpse of a window. Maybe I'll take a walk after lunch, just so I can enjoy a little bit of the sun. I didn't dry my hair this morning just so I could open the windows and sunroof and let the air dry it. Soooo nice! So, at least I got to enjoy this beautiful day for a little bit :)

I'm jealous of David though, he's home right now. Grant it, he had to go to the dentist this morning and his mouth is still numb, but at least he is able to enjoy this gorgeous day! I could kick myself, because I was originally going to ask to work from home today. Grr!

Only 3 and a half hours until the weekend starts!

UPDATE!!
Sometimes I really love my job...I just got this e-mail from my manager:

"...if there are no outstanding issues, please feel free to duck out early today and enjoy that glorious weather!"

wedding freakout

I'm starting to freak out a little bit with wedding planning. I was on theknot.com today looking over other December brides' to do lists. I'm finding that I'm a little behind. If it was anywhere else but the NYC/NJ area I would be ahead of schedule with planning but that area is crazy. You have to book everything at least 3 months earlier than you normally would. Oh, and I don't even want to get started on prices. Everything is so much more expensive up there. It's nearly impossible to stick within budget. Luckily, today I'm not that busy at work so I am researching limos, DJ's and someone to do hair and makeup. It's completely overwhelming. It's so hard to do this long distance. You have to plan to meet so far in advance because it's a 3 hour drive up there and it's not like we want to do that all in one day. So, it ends up being a weekend trip.

We are already going up there on the 25th to meet with the priest and a potential photographer. I highly doubt we can fit anything else in because that weekend we are also going to my grandmother's house to pick up my grandfather's car that she let David and I have. Whew...busy busy! I just want to get the big things out of the way so I can concentrate on the smaller, detailed things. I do not want to become a bridezilla and I really don't think I will. I just want things to be booked. Once the DJ and limo are booked I think I'll feel a whole lot better. Just want to get those necessities out of the way.

I am also starting to get serious about making the favors and centerpieces. I already have some ornaments made and 20 of them are 2 days away from being completed (it's a 5 step process). Only 200 more to go! :)

Here's a photo:

I think they look better in person, but you get the idea.

Anyway, I just needed to vent. I hardly ever talk about wedding planning and I think I just reached that point where if I didn't talk about it I would explode :)

Cluck like a chicken

Ever notice that music can dictate your mood? I'm sitting here in my cubicle with one earpiece in (so I am not completely out of it if someone comes over to talk to me), just singing along in my head to the songs that come on. I skip over the ones the don't fit in with the happy mood I'm in :) But seriously, I am in such a good mood right now. No real reason for it but the music I'm listening to is helping me stay in this mood. I think it has something to do with the fact that I'm exercising again. I'm also looking forward to this weekend because it's supposed to be warm, finally. It'll be nice to open up some windows and maybe work outside a little bit. Ha! 'Bicycle' by Queen just came on. One of my favorites from them!

Anyway, this is a very odd post but when I'm in a good, silly mood sometimes my brain doesn't function in 'normal' ways.

Hehe, David just e-mailed me and asked me if I remembered him coming to bed last night (I had gone to bed early because I had a headache). I said I didn't remember and he told me that when he came in I was making noises so he told me to cluck like a chicken and I said "no...why are you so mean to me?". I have zero recollection of this! He had done this one time to me before trying to get me to do something stupid while half asleep, since he is the king of that kind of stuff. Honestly, we are perfect for each other...equally weird :)

And the honeymoon search begins!

This is Stonefield Estate Villa Resort in St. Lucia and it is absolutely gorgeous. Each luxury villa has it's own pool and outdoor private shower! It's so beautiful here and I swear I find myself going to this website at least once a day and I instantly feel less stressed just by looking at this gorgeous view!

We are still talking about where to go but so far, this is my top choice. I can totally picture myself here decompressing from the wedding planning!

Weekend update (a little late)

It's been a while since I've been on here...sorry about that. I was just completely swamped at work yesterday. That always seems to be the case the day after an awards show.

My weekend was pretty good. Incredibly busy, but good. Once again, David had an agenda, made up a list and everything! Saturday was spend running around all over the place, including getting both cars fixed. The second one was not planned but the battery was dying so David asked the guy for the cheapest battery he had with no warranty. I wish I could have seen the look on the guy's face. But there's no point in throwing a ton of money into Princess Consuela Banana Hammock. Yep, that's my name for our crappy Sentra. Fans of the show 'Friends' will know where that name came from. So, all in all on Saturday we went to the Acura dealership, Lowes, Dunkin Donuts, the mall, BJ's, Target, Best Buy and Sears. Whew, I think that's it. And after all of that, we went out to dinner with friends. We actually went out to dinner with friends twice this past weekend. It was really nice to be able to hang out and catch up and get the hell out of the house!

Sunday was spent at home attacking the basement. Well, David attacked the basement. I mostly found excuses to do other things :) I must say though, David had a ton of energy to clean the house this weekend. I have no idea what came over him but I loved every minute of it! He threw out a lot of his stuff from college that he had just been hanging onto for no reason. I think I'll get that pack rat out of him completely someday!

Oh, and while we were in the basement we let Yoda have free reign of the backyard. We never let him out there by himself because who knows what he will get into, but we left the door open and gave him a few toys and he was happy as can be. We sat out there and just watched him for a while. I'll have to post some pictures once I get the photos off the card. He is just so damn cute!

Anyway, the house is coming together nicely...finally! And the next step is getting a deck built! But that's a whole different story...I'll update when we get the estimate...the NEW estimate I should say :)

Sick but happy

I’m home sick today. Yesterday was just such a struggle to stay awake and productive so I decided to take today and just rest. I’d still be in bed if it wasn’t for Yoda. Someone had to go to the bathroom :)

But I am very happy that I stayed home. My stomach is killing me and I have a massive headache. I am thrilled though because now I get to catch up on my favorite judge shows. I swear there are like 4 straight hours of them. I don’t care if that makes me weird. I just love watching all these stupid people fighting over the most ridiculous things sometimes. The one that’s on now, the ex-husband has beanie babies all over and said he won’t give them back to his ex-wife until she pays him for rent or something like that. Crazy!

Even though I feel like crap, I am so happy right now. I’m sitting in the recliner by the window with my pajamas on and I have Yoda laying next to me. It’s just so peaceful. Nothing to worry about, nothing to take care of. I can just sit here and be lazy. And surprisingly, I don’t feel guilty about it. I know that I didn’t leave any work for others to do today so me being home is not a burden for anyone at work.

Anyway, time to get back to my mindless TV :)

Going to hell...

Who's the stupid girl? That would be me. Before I write this, I would like to say that I blame this incident on my antibiotics. My brain function is cloudy today because of them, or at least that's what I'm telling myself.

So, I went to get lunch today and thought, pizza, yes I will get pizza. No red meat. So, I go get my pizza, happily eat it and get back to work (well, I use the term "work" very loosely). An hour or so goes by and then it hit me. I had PEPPERONI pizza. Hello stupid! Not only did I get pepperoni, but I didn't realize it until over an hour later! WTF! So, that's why I blame it on the meds. I can't believe that actually happened. I feel very stupid now. But I thought I would share that story because I'm sure some people will get a laugh or two out of it.

Stupid, stupid sick girl.

Feeling yucky

So, I have a sinus infection, yippee. Not fun. I have been feeling somewhat "under the weather" for about 2 weeks now and a couple of days ago my right ear clogged up and that solidified it. I needed to see a doctor. So, I made an appointment yesterday and left work early (whoo hoo!). I swear, this was like the world record fastest doctors visit ever. My appointment was at 4:00 and I was out the door at 4:15! That never happens. The second she looked in my nose she knew it was a sinus infection. Nothing too serious but enough to prescribe antibiotics. So, here I am at work, feeling crappy and not motivated at ALL to do anything. I contemplated staying home today but decided against it because I have a gallery to complete. Stupid conscience. I wish there was a way to turn that off so that I, for once, could enjoy a sick day and just sleep all day without feeling guilty. But no such luck. So, since I don't have motivation to do any work, I came on here to bitch and moan :) I'm sure there will be another meaningless post from me today, so be on the lookout!

In the meantime, enjoy these cute puppy and kitty photos (told you I wasn't motivated today!)
