I think every bride-to-be reaches the day where she just wants to throw all the wedding planning out the window and head to Vegas....today is that day for me. How about it David? 2 tickets to Las Vegas please!

Buffett recap!

Jeez, where should I begin? Well, we'll start with the tailgate. We got to Nissan at about 11:15am, parking lot opened at noon. So, we were about the 20th or so car let in and we headed out to the parking lot. And let me tell you, it was HOT out there. Hot is an understatement. So, instead of baking in the sun, we were persuaded to take shelter under the trees. It was a hike, but we managed to lug all of our stuff over to where others had set up their tents and decorations. Our spot seemed to be the hot spot since we had Hank (pic below) and a wading pool. Anyway, here are some fun photos from the tailgate!

This is where the fun ended for David. Once we made it into the show, he wasn't doing so well, couldn't get his temperature down and was tired as hell. We managed to get through the first half of the concert. It was great. I was having a great time but David was really looking awful. So, I finally convinced him that we needed to leave and go find the first aid tent. We left just in time. Let's just say that had we stayed on the blanket it would have gotten messy. Anyway, we finally made it to the first aid area and there we were told that David was suffering from heat exhaustion. So, a few waters later (useless because they just came back up) we were off to the car and headed back home. Only had to stop once on the side of the road ;)

We stayed up until about 1:30 in the morning making sure he had enough fluids in him to get through the night. He's hurting this morning but doing much better. Thanks for those who called to make sure he was doing ok. Allison, I hope you got my message!

What a way to remember my first Buffett concert!

It's almost time!

24 hours from now I will be sitting in a 100 degree parking lot filled with crazy people drinking beer, margaritas and whatever else we can find in the biggest tailgate I will probably ever attend.

Can't wait!

high school...

I don't keep in touch with anyone from high school. I really think it's a little odd that I don't. I wish I had kept in touch with a handful of people and when I really think about it I start to get a little depressed. We, as a group, had such a great time together but we all ended up at different colleges all over the east coast and in our freshman year we would snail mail back and forth but as time went on, the letters became fewer and fewer from both sides. So, no one is really to blame, it just happened. But I wish it hadn't. But then again, things happen for a reason, so maybe I was only meant to be friends with them at that point in my life. Who knows.

I received an e-mail through classmates a couple of days ago. It was from a friend of mine from my freshman year of HS. I was so shocked! She described herself because she thought I may have forgotten who she was. No chance in that, we basically had every class together in 9th grade so we bonded quickly. But again, as time went on in HS, we grew apart, hung out in different crowds and not on purpose at all, lost touch. But it was so great to see this e-mail from her. So, we've gone back and forth a few times now and it turns out that she has a 5 year old daughter and is in the military. It is really interesting to see how people have spent the last 10 years. She was asking if I had heard anything about our 10 year high school reunion. My god, it really has been that long. And up until this point I have had zero desire to attend it if it does happen. But now, I think I would go if I could. There are at least 5 people who I would love to get back in contact with and just find out what they have been doing in their lives.

This e-mail has changed my perspective a little bit. I really didn't think that anyone would care what I was doing or what I was up to. But it turns out they do. And it's interesting too because a couple of days before I got that e-mail I was playing around on the knot looking up girls I went to high school with to see if any of them were getting married. Yes I know, but I was bored! And it turns out, there are 4 of them that are getting married soon or got married recently.

So, maybe I didn't hate high school as much as I keep telling myself I did :)
